The Eco Station hosts field trips for schools and camps throughout Southern California as well as private tours for larger groups. Each trip lasts two hours, consisting of a one-hour hands-on assembly and a one-hour tour of the facility, with all lessons aligned with California State Science Standards.
In the assembly, students learn about the latest developments in environmental protection and the ways in which wildlife interact with various ecosystems, embodying the STAR Eco Station mission of "preservation through education".
The students then interact with our exotic wildlife, including tortoises, pythons, alligators, parrots, arachnids, lizards, and maybe even a chinchilla! Students also experience several exciting exhibits regarding ways to care for and protect the planet.
Field trips are offered Mondays through Fridays, between 10 AM and 4 PM
The group minimum is twenty children. The group maximum is 120.
1 free adult per 10 children with groups of 40 or more
The rate is $5 per visitor, both child and adult, with $100 minimum.
The STAR Eco Station is located at 10101 Jefferson Blvd. in Culver City.
